Level 2 NVQ in Vehicle Fitting Operations (General Vehicle Fitting)

This qualification covers activities within the motor industry that relate to fast fit technicians working on a wide range of vehicles in garages, dealerships and fast fit businesses.

The qualification covers the basic technical needs for today's motor industry:

·All aspects of health & safety, maintaining positive relationships and good housekeeping
·Removing and replacing of components from vehicle systems: engines (fuel & ignition systems),  transmissions (gearboxes & final drives), brakes, steering, suspension and vehicle electrics (batteries, starting & charging)  
·Understanding of how the above vehicle systems work

Other skills that may be required are:

·Identifying faulty components: engines, gearboxes, axles, batteries, alternators and starter motors
·Repairing tyres and carrying out tyre related adjustments
·Valeting vehicles

The qualification is assessed using portfolio and IMI Awards on-line multi-choice testing.
